A sensationalist news reporter is sent to the remote outback town of Alice Springs to cover the town's struggle with social disorder. She is reluctantly paired with an easy going local camera operator with deep ties to the community. What she hopes to be a quick and easy hit-piece on the town is promptly derailed.

What has happened to the news?

Live From The Alice has a unique blend of family comedy with social commentary. Produced by Alice Springs Local Emma Alix Smith and directed by local Damon Van Der Schuit. This film takes a playful approach to a frustrating topic for Alice Springs residents.

Although filled with laugh out loud family jokes, the film also explores the way major news organisations exploit Alice Springs youth without looking at the beauty and strong community that lives in this desert town.
